We’re wrapping up the 2018 Adopt a Family Christmas project!
Each year, Living Loving Locally helps provide Christmas to hundreds of local children during the holiday season. Through fundraisers, event marketing, generous donations, and the gracious support of volunteers, we’re able to provide food, gifts, and necessities to families in need.
100% of donations are used to purchase food, clothes, and toys. All operating expenses are covered by individual and corporate contributions. Over the course of several weeks, teams of volunteers shop, sort, pack, and deliver boxes of goodies to metro Detroit families.
The 2018 Adopt a Family Project proved to be an astounding success! We were able to deliver Christmas to OVER 400 CHILDREN! A recording-breaking 70 volunteers showed up to help shop at Kohl’s, who graciously opened their doors early for our large crew of volunteers. In just a few hours, we were able to spend $42,000 dollars on clothes and necessities. Just a few weeks later, more volunteers donated their time to help sort, distribute, and package pallets of food.
In addition to helping local families in need, we also partner with C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital of Ann Arbor. We’re given a list of families with a child receiving treatment at Mott Children’s Hospital. Living Loving Locally then purchases gifts for every member of each family under 18 years old. Along with the gifts, we also provide a box of food.
THANK YOU TO OUR DONORS AND VOLUNTEERS!
We are so thankful to have such an amazing team of volunteers and so many people willing to donate their time and money to support this great cause. A huge thank you to everyone that helps make this project such a success.
A special thanks to Tim Yarnell and Flo-tec Industries for providing the warehouse and to Palmer Moving for providing semi trucks and storing the gifts.
